Primary education in the UK takes place between the ages of 7-11. Children at this age are naturally curious about the world, love asking questions, and seem to soak up information. So what better time to give your child the opportunity to study in the UK？

Children at this age study a wide variety of subject from core subjects including, but not limited to, English, Science, Math, History, Geography, and physical education. In addition, many private schools offer supplementary courses such as citizenship, business studies, and current affairs.

Students studying in “lower” school typically follow the same broad curriculum began in primary education with the aim of developing the student’s own interests and talents, but with more academic focus and rigour designed to prepare them for their study in “upper” school.

With the move to “upper” school, students make a selection of subjects they wish specialize in and prepare for exams in these subjects at the age of 16.

As an alternative, an increasing number of schools now offer an international Baccalaureate (or IB) course. An IB is usually considered more difficult than ‘A’ Levels because it is a broader curriculum of 6 subjects with an additional foreign language as well as requiring the student to undertake physical challenges and charity work. However, both sixth form options are ideal ways to prepare for the challenging academic environment waiting at a UK University.
